Mikitamäe folk dance group HÕBEHALL acts since the year 1995 and in the beginning as a woman-group, but since in the end of 2001 a mixed-group accrued. Now there are 14 active dancers in woman-group and 12 dancers in mixed-group.
The purpose of the group is to retain, acquaint and develop seto folk-dance and music. Our repertory involves other Estonian folk-dances too.
We have participated in many cultural events in our Mikitamäe parishment, Põlva county and all over Estonia. Traditional performances involve county festivities "Three generations" and South-Estonian "Memme-taadi" festivities. We have introduced Seto dances on European biggest folkfestival EUROPEADE (in Germany 1999, Denmark 2000, Spain 2001), on international folkfestival FOLKESTATE in Italy in 2002, on International County-Wandering Festival in Hungary in 2007 and on festival Pispalan Sottiisi in Finland in 2008.
